MINDFULNESS SCRIPTS PROJECT
The children have been working hard writing, rehearsing, and presenting their mindfulness scripts this term. They have explored what it means to engage in mindful activities such as mindful breathing, eating, cooling down and art-making. This public speaking and wellness assignment supports our learning in the following areas:
Language Arts
- used criteria about the content, language and delivery to structure their speeches
- incorporated descriptive language to create visualizations for the audience
Health Education
- they explored practices that support physical and emotional development
Visual Arts
- created title pages that represented the theme of their scripted speech
Social Responsibility
- exercised democratic rights and responsibilities by identifying simple ways to improve the school, community and world.
