Dear Families,

We believe that parent involvement is vitally important to student success. We have created a new parents section on our website. The inspiration for this site comes from our intention to provide parents with the tools to connect meaningfully with their children. It is an excellent resource for information about how you can support your child's learning at home. Many of the documents and web links have been translated into Punjabi ਪੰਜਾਬੀ , Hindi हिंदी and Urdu اردو . This section is meant to support you as well. Please visit the following link: Ms. Dosanjh's Website - Parents Section.

We are also thrilled to share our Library section.  You can access all of the different library catalogues, including Destiny Quest from this page. You will need to ask Mrs. Cherry for the passwords for certain sites such as World Book Online and EBSCO. I tried out Destiny Quest at home and found a copy in our library of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Wow technology is so exciting! I can't wait to pick it up from Mrs. Cherry!

Keeping up with your children is no easy task so we have created a channel with videos to support our parents. Please check out The Learning Channel on Youtube and be sure to visit The Learning Channel - For Parents and The Learning Channel - ਪੰਜਾਬੀ. We highly recommend Filters to ensure your child is viewing appropriate content throughout their K-12 online experiences. Filters are available for YouTube and you need to switch the safety mode on. Parents can create an account on YouTube to lock parent filters and we've included a video that gives easy to follow instructions - Youtube Filters. We've also created a document which explains how you can activate filters for Google, Windows and Macintosh OSX - click here.

A community is nothing without the participation and support of its citizens. Our children are learning what it means to be a global citizen this year. Since social responsibility and community involvement is important to us, we have included several community links for sportsarts and community programs within the City of Surrey.

Many of the children have been asking about Miss Fetherstonhaugh's website, so here it is! Miss Fetherstonhaugh's website

And Finally a Special Thanks...

None of this could have been possible without the hard work, deep level of care and support of my dear brother, Jesse. I am deeply touched by his desire to give back to our community by offering his technological expertise, resourcefulness, and passion for life-long learning. He is a true example of the quotation on which this website is based: He is not only doing well in the world but doing good as well. I am grateful for his contribution and I hope all of you are inspired to pass on the goodness that has been given to you.

Much Love,

Ms. Dosanjh
